Lapping is the process that generates specific roughness and thickness to our workpieces by using the abrasive within the lapping plate or unattached abrasive particles in the slurry to penetrate the contact surface of the workpiece. In many industries we use lapping to create extremely smooth and flat surface; however, lapping also can be used to create a curved surface, such as lens or mirrors.
